KALEIDOSCOPE EXPLORATORY SCHOOL
GOAL
My senior capstone project was to design a middle school that enhances the learning experience for students. Included is a printed set of construction documents, a complete materials and fabric board, visually appealing presentation boards, and an organized pre-design research binder.
SOLUTION
Middle school is a time of personal transformation as students transition into high school and adolescence. At KES, each individual is encouraged to participate in courses and extra-curricular activities that are engaging and meaningful. This provides the opportunity to understand subjects in new ways and discover unknown talents and passions. Active learning spaces furnished with Steelcase promote collaboration and group engagement, while also providing oppoortunity for focused, individual work.
CONCEPT
Inspired by a kaleidoscope, this innovative middle school design features a functional, engaging, inspirational, and beautiful educational setting that, combined with the school's progressive structure, sets the new standard for learning..
