F.A.R.M. CAFE
GOAL
Working in teams of 3, present a budget-conscious redesign option to board members of F.A.R.M. Cafe that provides a solution to their functional and aesthetic needs.
SOLUTION
Following restaurant design standards and considering Universal Design and ADA standards, I designed an inviting space for all members of the community to experience. The increased seating capacity from 45 to 72 paired with the introduction of gang-able tables promote the sense of community and gathering in the restaurant. By freshening up the space, eliminating clutter, and enhancing signage and circulation throughout the restaurant, the design improves both the customers’ and the volunteers’ experience. Also by improving curb appeal so that F.A.R.M. Cafe continues to grow and impact lives throughout the High Country.
CONCEPT
“Feed All Regardless of Means” is the motto of Boone’s famous non-profit, pay as you can restaurant. While maintaining the character of Historic Boone Drug, this modern design focuses on the “Real. Good. Food.” and the real good people preparing it.
