MIXED USE SHOWROOM
GOAL
In collaboration with 2 other students, create a design center and product showroom with an upstairs office and apartment suite for the new Charlotte location of Interior Initiative, a sustainable design firm based in New York City.
SOLUTION
Six custom displays showcasing sustainable products, private offices and meeting spaces, a shared kitchen, and private accommodations for up to two guests create the ideal working design center for Interior Initiative. With an abundance of environmentally sensitive furniture, finishes, and equipment, paired with biophilic and mid-century modern design, this unique space becomes a showroom for successful sustainable design. This project is based on the 2016 ASID Carolinas Otto Zenke Design Competition, however group submissions were not permitted.
CONCEPT
Inspired by natural elements and organic forms, this design not only refers back to nature, but also allows the client to become “rooted” in this new city.
TOOLS
Autocad, Revit, Hand Sketching, Photoshop, Mixed Media Rendering
